In Japan, sandwiches often include fruit and cream, as well as savory fillings. (Not in the same sandwich, obviously). They’re called sandos and they’re popular in South Korea too, where the Crown Sando Strawberry comes from.
This isn’t a sando, though: it’s a sando inspired cookie (which is obviously better, because that way it’s a cookie). This marvelously summery strawberries-and-cream treat tastes like pure sunshine on a hot day. (And like a strawberry cream cookie on a normal day).
