Jimmy’s Salted Caramel Popcorn

Popcorn has a surprisingly long history; popped corn kernels have been found at archeological sites dating all the way back to 4500 BCE. Flavored popcorn, however, like this salted caramel popcorn, is a much more recent invention. Jimmy’s produces an exciting array of popcorn flavors, from sweet chili cheese to toffee—they even offer chocolate-covered popcorn. Did you know that corn pops into two distinct types of shapes? One shape is called “butterfly” or “snowflake” and features an irregular structure with “wings” that stick out. The other shape is called “mushroom” which refers to rounder, smoother popcorn without wings. This caramel corn is made with mushroom popcorn, as it’s less fragile than butterfly popcorn and able to stand up to heavier coatings and flavorings.
