What’s the one similarity between today and 1888? These delicious French butter biscuits! 1200 years ago, the French believed the Archangel Saint-Michel appeared and built an abbey on top of a sacred mountain—Mont Saint-Michel! In 1888, Annette Poulard, known as Mère Poulard, or Mother Poulard, worked as a cook at this abbey and eventually opened her own inn, creating recipes with the freshest of ingredients that have survived until today. These biscuits, each individually engraved with the year 1888 to signify the year Mother Poulard’s company was founded, are made from her original recipe, and are extremely buttery and rich in a way that will leave your tastebuds begging for more and more!
