Chocolate truffles have no culinary relation to the fungus that you get on your pasta at expensive restaurants (thankfully). Except that they look kind of the same, at least according to people in 18th century France, where they were invented. These silky-smooth treats are made from cacao (originally a stimulating hot chocolate-like drink from Latin America) to form a gooey ganache. Come on – it’s rich, sweet, luxurious chocolate. Do we really have to say more?
