Sweet & Salty Licorice Gummies

(7)
1.4 oz

The licorice plant is native to West Asia, North Africa, and Southern Europe and arrived in the Netherlands in the 1600s through international trade. Salty licorice can be an acquired taste; some find the saltiness completely addictive, while others are turned off by the intense flavor. Rather than ordinary table salt, these candies are seasoned with sal ammoniac (ammonium chloride), which is slightly bitter. Sal ammoniac is also used in some cough medicines, and it’s possible that salty licorice was first used medicinally, though it’s now enjoyed as a tasty snack. These fun licorice chews come in the form of tiny animals and feature both sweet and salty flavors.

If you like both sweet and salty licorice, these are for you. They are not too salty or hard. They are more like a touch of salt.

Ok this is why I subscribe to this service. This is weird. It’s the salty Nordic licorice, and when I say salty, not sodium chloride; ammonium chloride. It’s an experience and I LOVE it.

These were great! So glad to find them in the shop.

This is by far the worst licorice. Threw the bag away after 1 bite. It tasted like ammonia. Then I looked at the ingredients and one of the ingredients is Ammonium Chloride. Tasted like chemicals.

Tastes awful, had to throw them away.

Marina, Mississauga, ON

That overpowering, artifical kind of licorice.

You have to be a fan of licorice to like this.
