In 1852, Antonio Lacasa began producing and selling his own chocolates, establishing the LACASA brand. Today, the company is owned by Antonio’s great-grandchildren and uses modern technology to produce thousands of chocolates daily. In 1987, LACASA acquired another company known for producing one of Spain’s most popular chocolate candies, Conguitos, which was first introduced in 1961. Some original variations of the Conguitos cookie contained peanuts, but these crispy cookie balls have a digestive cookie center, covered in milk chocolate.
