A Local’s Guide To Pakistan

Pakistan is known for its stunning, sprawling mountain landscapes, but it also boasts incredible architecture, ancient history, nightlife, and even expansive beaches (with camels!). Our local guide, Fatima, is here to take us on an unforgettable adventure.

Hey, I’m Fatima. I was born and raised in Pakistan, and I love every colorful, flavorful, soulful part of it. I’m excited to share a little piece of home with you, through the stories, spices, and traditions that make our culture so rich and beautiful.

Qissa Khawani Bazaar in Peshawar

Here I am strolling through Peshawar’s Qissa Khawani Bazaar, nicknamed the ‘Storytellers’ Market.’ It unveils centuries old architecture, intricate woodwork, and a living tapestry of Pakistani history.

Liberty Market in Lahore

My favourite market for traditional Pakistani shopping is Lahore’s Liberty Market, where vibrant khussas, clothes, food, jewelry, and more create a lively tapestry of local culture.

Sheesh Mahal in Lahore

One of my favorite pieces of history: Lahore’s Sheesh Mahal, a dazzling Mughal masterpiece built by Emperor Shah Jahan as a symbol of love. It blends the legendary tale of his wife’s wish to see the stars indoors with its intricate, star like mirror work.

Breakfast At Delhi Gate in Lahore

A classic Lahori morning at Delhi Gate. Nothing screams Lahore like halwa, poori, channay, tea with a tiny bench, big appetites, and even bigger laughs. Nothing hits like breakfast in the heart of old Lahore.

Skardu

Skardu’s breathtaking landscapes, where towering mountains meet crystal clear waters, create a serene escape in the heart of Pakistan’s northern beauty.

Karachi Beach & Turtle Hawk Bay

Turtle Hawk Bay in Karachi is one of my favorite places to unwind. The beach is always alive with camels, horses, and little bursts of joy everywhere. From rides to roadside chai and the sound of waves, it’s simple but chaotic and full of life, just like the city itself.
