Rome, Italy

At one time, Rome was basically the center of the universe. Thousands of years later, it’s still THE place to be, with so much to see, do, and most importantly, eat! We enlisted a local guide (and Rome native), Eleonora, to make sure you get the best out of your Roman holiday.

Hi there! I’m Eleonora, but you can call me ‘El’. I am a content creator and pasta lover who was born and raised in Rome, Italy. Traveling the world is my passion. I love learning about local foods and traditions of all the places I visit to really immerse myself in the local culture. I love spending time by the beach with my family! Only 40 minutes from Rome City there is a seaside town called ‘Ostia’. That’s where I go for an aperitivo, an ocean dip, and a family catch-up on a Sunday.

Colosseum

You might have seen this building before—this is the Colosseum! Every time I go to the city centre in Rome, I can’t not see the Colosseum. It’s a breathtaking monument and if you want to visit it, make sure you pre book your tour.

Trevi Fountain

This is Trevi Fountain, another monument in Rome that holds very special memories! When I was younger, my grandma used to take me here for a stroll and we would always get a gelato at a little shop nearby.

Food: Maritozzo

To have the the most traditional Roman breakfast, there has to be a, Maritozzo, a brioche bun filled with fresh whipped cream. It’s such a delicious way to start the day!

Food: Pasta alla Carbonara

If I had to pick a meal I would have to eat every day for the rest of my life, I would choose Pasta alla Carbonara. This is the creamiest, juiciest, most flavorful pasta I ever had!.

Food: Antipasto

For a lighter lunch or as an antipasto, I love a cheese and cured meats combo. Although it’s a very tough decision every time, I mostly end up ordering Prosciutto di Parma and a fresh Burrata.
